The 'Show All' feature in Microsoft Word allows you to see each of the formatting mark tags, such as spaces, carriage returns or new lines, tabs, and new paragraphs in Microsoft Word.
In the Format sidebar, click the paragraph style name near the top. If the text is in a text box, table, or shape, first click the Text tab at the top of the sidebar to see paragraph styles. In the Paragraph Styles menu, move the pointer over the name of the style you want to delete, then click the arrow that appears and choose Delete Style. Open the MS Word 2007 or 2010. Go To File— Options. On the Word Option screen, click on Display. On right side under “Always show these formatting marks on the screen”, deselect all the check boxes like below. Open the document again and all the symbols and characters should have gone.Note

- 1 With your paragraph selected, choose Format→Paragraph (or press Command+Option+M). The Paragraph dialog opens. 2 Choose an option from the Alignment pop-up menu. Change the Left and Right Indentation values to whatever you want.
- It depends on what you mean by remove. Those paragraph marks (their proper name is a pilcrow) play an important role in Word. Most of them store all the formatting information for the paragraph they’re in.
You cannot delete the formatting marks. They can only be hidden by disabling the Show All feature.
The image above shows the pilcrow icon, which enables and disables this feature (looks like a backwards 'P'). The image also displays example text with the main formatting symbols. To enable or disable this feature, click the Show All, or pilcrow, icon on the standard toolbar. If this toolbar is not visible, click View, Toolbars, and select Standard.

If some symbols are not being hidden when disabling the Show All feature, those symbols are not formatting marks and must be removed manually.
