The printer Hardware Warranty period covers ALL hardware items on the printer, against failure during the warranty period.
** The warranty period runs until either the stated period of time, or the distance of printed material is reached. (ALL Datamax printers keep an internal record of the material length they have printed.)
Datamax I-4208 Printer Driver
The Print Head fitted in the printer is warranted against failure for 1 Year or 1 million inches of printing, which ever occurs first.
DataCol Solutions offers this warranty on behalf of Honeywell, USA. We will pass all claims to them. However their decision to accept or reject a claim is final.
This warranty does not cover equipment or parts that have been misused, altered, neglected, handled carelessly, or used for purposes other than those for which they were manufactured. It also does not cover loss, damages resulting from accident, acts of nature (lightning), severe power surges or any damage resulting from unauthorized service of the printer.
All replacement parts (including replacement print heads and options), supplied after the initial delivery of the printer, have a 90 day warranty from the date of supply to our reseller or Service Centres.
PLEASE NOTE: We ONLY use and supply Genuine Datamax-O'Neil options, accessories & replacement parts. Because of their possible impact on the printer, using 'clone' or non-Datamax print heads, will void the printers FULL warranty.
- Software Settings - Unlike a laser or injet printer, there are many software parameters that can be set in all Datamax-O'Neil printers, that will change the way the printer operates, to the point that it may not function at all. These can either be set via the printers menu system in the printers BIOS, via the Windows driver, or by the application sending data to the printer. (ie Label design package etc.) Everytime a label is printed, this configuration information can be re-sent to the printer.
- The following software/configuration errors are NOT covered by the warranty-
- Failure to load any printer firmware correctly
- Failure to configure the Windows driver correctly
- Failure to cofigure the printer driving application correctly
- Failure to clean and maintain the printer with the correct solvent (IPA)
- Failure to report errors or problems in a timely manner.
